Brendan James Huber Memorial Scholarship

The Kolmac Foundation has created the Brendan James Huber Memorial Scholarship to provide financial assistance for young adult patients to complete addiction treatment at the Kolmac Clinic.  The Brendan James Huber Scholarship provides financial support to young adult patients aged 18-25 in the northern Baltimore County area at the Kolmac Clinic who cannot afford to complete treatment.

Brendan passed away at the age of 23 of a heroin overdose.  He was a tremendous high school athlete, playing both basketball and lacrosse for Dulaney High School.  He was majoring in accounting at Towson University at the time of his passing.  Brendan was a hard worker who often worked two or three jobs while attending school full time.  He had a great sense of humor and was loyal to his friends, family and longtime girlfriend Rachel.  He was a perfectionist in many ways, who fought hard to achieve success in school, but sadly, could not win his fight with addiction.

His friends and family have started an annual Bull Roast and Basketball tournament, in Brendan’s memory, which is held on the first Saturday in June.  Proceeds from that event have gone to Phoenix Recovery, Weber Sober Homes, and Kolmac Clinic.

Those who wish to make a secure online donation to the Brendan James Huber Memorial Scholarship may do so through the Kolmac Foundation’s website.  Checks made payable to The Kolmac Foundation may be mailed to 3919 National Drive, Suite 300, Burtonsville, Maryland 20866, with the name of the scholarship on the memo line.  The Kolmac Foundation is a private, not for profit 501(c)(3) organization managed by a board of trustees and operated wholly by volunteers.   All donations are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law.  For more information about the Brendan James Huber Memorial Scholarship, please call (301) 589-0255.
